Like many other lemony varieties, this strain has a strong citrus smell that many describe as sour and skunky, but also fresh and sweet. Others compare the taste and smell to a lemony candy. This is probably due to the relatively high concentrations of limonene. The taste is similar to the smell, which makes for a wonderful smoking or vaping experience.
Being sativa-dominant, the strain has all the uplifting effects typical of sativa strains. For example, she induces a high that is often psychedelic. Lemon Shining Silver Haze generally flowers for eight to nine weeks. This depends on how you grow and care for her. Outdoors, you can often harvest the buds as early as mid-October. Indoor yields are usually in the region of 600-650 grams per metre or 150 grams per plant. When grown outdoors, the strain generally produces 650-700 grams per plant. However, she is reportedly capable of yielding 1,000 grams per plant if you care for her optimally. Indoors, she grows between 80 and 140cm tall; outdoors, 130-170cm.
The plant's buds tend to be large and elongated. They have a beautiful colour of lime green with golden yellow, which seems to emphasise the lemony nature of the strain. As with most sativas, the buds are loose and fluffy. They are covered in many red hairs and trichomes with lots of THC that entice the senses.
Lemon Shining Silver Haze is a cross of Lemon Skunk and Amnesia Haze. Both sativas have a prominent lemon flavour and aroma of their own. Lemon Shining Silver Haze has a relatively high THC content of around 25 per cent. The percentage of CBD is about 0.88 per cent in this regard. In fact, the strain is so potent that it won the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2008. Partly because of this, her popularity has grown tremendously.
