Although the exact origin of the strain is shrouded in mists, we can assure that White Widow is a Dutch classic. The plant was first grown in our country.
The original White Widow was created when a sativa landrace from Brazil was pollinated by an indica hybrid from southern India. Reportedly, WW was the result of years of selection and breeding in the mountains of Kerala. There, she was bred to produce resin-rich weed.
Since its original launch in the 1990s, White Widow seeds have been distributed worldwide. This has led to several variants of the original strain. Today, most reputable seed banks have a version of WW in their offerings. And RQS is no exception.
The master breeders at Royal Queen Seeds have created their own version of this classic using the genes of White Widow S1. Our variant offers a perfect balance of 50% indica and 50% sativa genes. The ratio is exactly 50/50, offering the best of both worlds.
Our White Widow feminised grows about 1m tall indoors and reaches around 2m outdoors. She needs plenty of light, but can also be grown in cool climates such as France, the UK and the Netherlands. Grown indoors, she can yield 450-500g/m² under a 600W light. Outdoors, growers can harvest between 550-600g/plant. This cultivar does better in warm climates. Nevertheless, she also delivers excellent results in northern European regions.
White Widow finishes flowering after 8-10 weeks and requires little maintenance. This is the perfect plant if you are growing for the first time. Its characteristics also make her great for SOG and ScrOG growing.
If you don't subject her to training techniques, she develops a large central cola. Although it looks beautiful and impressive, you improve the results with training. Top each plant early in the growing period and apply LST and defoliation so she produces buds in more places and improves air circulation through the foliage.
The effects produced by smoking White Widow are in line with those of the best sativa-dominant plants. She produces an outstanding, almost psychedelic high. Smokers feel it in their heads and are surprised by a cerebral surge. When blowing out, you notice a clear and fresh aroma of pine with a hint of citrus. This makes for an invigorating and tasty smoking experience. White Widow feminised from RQS is not just another WW variety. Her compact buds produce high concentrations of terpenes, such as myrcene, pineene and caryophyllene.
